and Administration certificate (1996) at Vytautas Magnus University,
Kaunas (Lithuania);
Residences at Ecole nationale de la photographie (Arles, France,
1997-8);
Ecole nationale supérieure de Beaux-Arts (Paris, France,
1998);
New experience in art history, communication and art managemant
at University of Lausanne (Switzerland, 2000-2001).
There also was an internship at the Musée de l'Elysée
- museum for photography (Lausanne, 2001);
Yearly visits and assistance to the Rencontres internationales
de la photographie (Arles, France, 1998-2002).
You probably have met him in the photo festival Arles, after waiting
a long line to have your badge done. Remember the guy with a hat?
| But to make trips, to collect some knowledge
he needed to speek a couple of languages, different from Lithuanian.
So it happened to be: |
English and
Russian. Then came
German and
French, and somehow
Polish, learned on TV.
During the work on "A portrait of Kražiai" Mindaugas
Kavaliauskas learned the key particularities of the Samogitian
dialect of the Samogitian dialect of Lithuanian:)
